Installing a BT 80B RF3

The BT 80B RF3 can help line stability. To install one it must be the first item on your line (before the NTE5). Officially speaking you are not permitted to touch this wiring. If you look at the 80B RF3 you will see two sets of terminals, one are screw terminals and the other are IDC. Both are marked A, B & E.

Installing an ADSL faceplate

Although our ADSL faceplates come with BT Openreach instructions we thought we would post this up just to be safe.

First off to fit the NTE5 ADSL faceplate splitter you need to remove the front lower half of the NTE5 :-

How to use an IDC tool

To use an IDC tool is very simple, there is no need to remove the insulation from the wire.

IDC Tool:-

First lay the wires over the top of the IDC block :-

Then use the IDC tool to push the wire firmly into the block, note the tool will only fit one way :-
