The most popular line box is the BT/Openreach NTE5 type. The version we sell is the latest revision with the bell wire filter that can help improve ADSL performance, in some cases by as much as 3mb!

You will see we also have "ADSL filtered " & "ADSL Filtered with RJ11".

The ADSL filtered line box is exactly that-a master socket with integrated ADSL filter so there is no need for a plug in filter.

The version with RJ11 expands on this by adding an ADSL modem port for connection of ADSL modems/routers. These line boxes are usually NOT used as the master but on extension wiring, the master should always be an NTE5 type.

We have three types of ADSL faceplate available, ALL of these require an NTE5 as they replace the from lower half of that socket.

NTE2000, this faceplate is as supplied by BT/Openreach, it comes with BT Openreach instructions and is the best filter you can presently get.

The NTE2005 expands of this by adding the capability of hard wired ADSL extensions(the NTE2000 can only have an ADSL extension plugged into the front). It again comes with BT Openreach branded instructions. Performance wise it's the same as the NTE2000.

The XTE2005 clone is a Chinese import filter, it's a very good quality but not quite as good as the Openreach branded ones, the XTE2005 clone again has the ability of hard wired ADSL extension from the rear.

The main benefit of an ADSL faceplate is two fold, one it gives centralised ADSL filtering so no more plug in filters around the house, secondly, & most importantly, they seperate the ADSL signal away from your internal wiring. This gives the same effect of the NTE5 with bell wire filter & give the same gains.

Secondary sockets are used for extensions, PABX are used for telephone systems(they will work on BT lines but this is NOT recommended.
